Nondenominational space filled with Rothko artwork
Even if you aren't religious, this chapel is a must-see. Mark Rothko was commissioned to create 14 original pieces which give the space the serenity and aesthetic peace that his paintings are famous for.

texbearjoe gave this placeGiving PauseA wonderful museum space devoted to almost totally black (with hints of purples) paintings by renowned US Artist Mark Rothko. A combination of the monochromatic interior and the volume of the space itself provides a contradictory acceleration towards a moment of rest and contemplation. I'm not a "spiritual" person, so seeing it once or twice was enough to get the feel of the place, but well worth a visit.
