Love the cowboy environment. Nice staff. The line dancing classes are soooo good and have lots of fun. Some of the cowboys are so hot!!!

Country Western Fun!

Great watering-hole with classic country music, country dancing and nice folks. Prices are low and the bartenders are nice. If gay and country is for you then the BRB is the place!

As with most Houston/Montrose clubs, timing is everything. If you want a quiet drink and "conversation" sometimes quiet is better. If you want loud and yeehaw, Thursday evenings, Friday and Saturday night are good cowpoke nights. There are social events hosted by clubs around Houston most weekends with a different crowd at times for a nice mix. The DJs spin it Thurs - Sundays (times depend) with a good C&W mix. Other times you have to drop a dime to play music ( don't be cheap and don't forget to play some Country AND Western - Cher needs a rest once in a bit ) The bartenders are courteous, kind, helpful, friendly...but that don't make 'em boy scouts...well, except one ;) They know how to keep you hydrated, any shift (try a TANG) ... side pocket, main bar, back bar or Miss Kitty's outdoor bar. Thursday is a great dance night to learn and meet people. Fridays and Saturdays jump on the floor. Great people and staff...the guys in the parking lot will even help you find a spot too - rare in midtown-ish area.

More than meets the eye

Yes the BRB may be old, yes it may not be in the Montrose, and yes not all the clientele is young, and that is the beginning of a good thing. This is the Gayborhood equivalent of Cheers. Where the Bartenders remember you and what you drink. This bar is a comfortable place to hang-out, dance and meet new friends. The crowd is more grown-up and far more open than other clubs in the area. But don't get me wrong it is far from quiet. In fact they know how to party, Houston-style. Yes it is a gay bar but you will find gay, lesbian and straight couples there too. It's a true melting pot for the city. Houston should be proud to have a place like this, and if you haven't checked it out, you should. Don't go in with expectations of the BRB being like Dallas or Austin, go in with your eyes open and you might see the true taste of Houston. The BRB is more than just what meets the eye.....

Fun Country and Western Bar

The BRB, located on Brazos Street is just minutes away from the Pacific Street group of bars that most visitors hear of. If you miss going to the BRB then you are truly passing up a fun time. The bartenders, DJ, and the crowd is great. They have a lot of drink specials, fun events and FREE country western dance lessons every Thursday night at 8:30 and the 2nd/4th Fridays of Every Month. If you want to meet some genuine friendly folks - the BRB is the place to go.

Not Really...

The only country, gay, dance bar in Houston. It is not in Montrose and you will have to drive there. The building is old and smells like a nursing home. The crowd is ok. Mainly, older country folks but every now and then some cuties. It is not like the other gay country bars in Austin or Dallas. If you are looking for a country night, it is really your only choice but definetly not a bar to plan your night to. It needs major updating and the dance floor is hardly a dance floor.

You would think that a country, gay bar in Houston would be packed full of hot, gay, cowboys. NOT!! This is the only real country bar in Houston but nothing like the other country bars in Austin or Dallas. The Round Up in Dallas is always packed with cowboys and non-cowboys but overall, a very hot scene! The BRB is small, the crowd is a little older, the bar is outdated and away from the Montrose strip! Houston needs their own version of the Round-Up! Till then...Your chances of fun or hot guys here are hit or miss!

If Wrangler Butt's Drive You Nuts.......

The BRB, as we call it, has been Houston's number 1 country western hot spot for years. If you like Hot Country Music, Hot Men in Wranglers and a staff of friendly bartenders, this is the place to go in Houston. The dance floor is usually full with Two-Stepping and Waltzing. 3 bars, one in front, one in back and one off to the side. This is a quieter bar with a juke box (full of all your country favorites - new and old) They have a couple of video games and two pool tables. If you need your boots shined, there's a boot shine stand where you can watch the wrangler butts pass.
