What we say
Best of both worlds: downstairs club & upstairs lounge.
This converted old house is now home to a little of everything. Hang out on the front patio, dance on the downstairs dance floor, or retreat to the upstairs lounge for great views of Houston.

A friend and I from out of state were at Bartini during the Thanksgiving holiday and it was fun. There is a happening atmosphere at this predominately black club in Houston. Although my boy and I are Native American, we still felt welcome by the staff and the clubbers. There were singing, dancing preformances that Wedensday night which were pretty tight, but it would have been more fun to go on a night when the dance floor opens up to everyone. Drinks are moderately priced and good. Dress to impress.

The title says it all. Yes, there are bars that are more frequented by lesbians, gay men, Latino's, coutnry folks, and other groups. This bar is frequented mainly by African Americans. Some people may not like me describing it in those terms but it is absolutely the truth. I have been there twice with my friends but I was one of the only white guys there. I was very out of place and the clientele let me know it by their looks. It is not very modern and looks to be thrown together anyway. Bars in the Montrose area have a mixture of races. This bar does not.

The place is awesome and on Wednesdays when the ladies party, it is one hell of a show. You feel so welcome, male & female, straight & gay, or whatever alike.
So, what do you say?
