Houston's Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate Juneteenth with the legendary funk and soul jazz saxophonist, Maceo Parker: his name synonymous with Funk Music, his pedigree impeccable; his band: the tightest little funk orchestra on earth! From James Brown to Parliament Funkadelic to Prince and more, Maceo Parker has defined the genre. The festivities include performances from Houston’s beloved ThunderSOUL Orchestra and Writers in the Schools's award-winnng poetry-slam team Meta-Four Houston. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30am-1pm.
