40 years ago, the Texas State Bar Association invited anti-gay crusader, Anita Bryant, to sing at their annual meeting at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Houston on June 16, 1977. Little did they know that invitation would culminate in the largest protest to that date in Houston's history, now known as "Houston's Stonewall". What's more, the protest empowered and mobilized a formerly invisible group of LGBTQ citizens to organize to action. If you were there, it changed your life. Come celebrate your history and reminisce with old friends.
We believe that LGBTQ+ people deserve safe vacations that allow them to be their authentic selves. That's why our City Guides aren't locked behind a paywall. Can you contribute today?
