I've been to probably 100 gyms in the past decade around the world, and a few stand out quite clearly. Quad's in Chicago is butt-ugly, but hardcore and has fantastic equipment. Gold's gym in Venice is legendary, but lives up to the reputation. World gym in San Diego is a big hardcore mess, but a fantastic experience. FIT competes very well with these icons - it doesn't have all the equipment of some places, but it has the right equipment. They would improve with perhaps more higher-weight barbells, equipment for T-bar rows, less Free-movement equipment, but these are small quibbles. And as a friend said to me, in most gyms, 80% of the guys look average and 20% of the guys make you jealous. In this gym, 80% of the guys look like Men's Fitness cover models, and 20% are average. Scrupulously clean, well-lit locker rooms, standing tanning, private showers, steamroom & sauna, endless towels, shaving, deodorant and other amenities. Good food section, friendly staff, huge range of cardio equipment, and on and on. A superb experience, and highly recommended.
