Are you ready Houston? Another Saturday of non-stop dancing returns to Rich's Houston courtesy of Super Star DJ Blacklow of West Hollywood!
Rich's Houston host the official Memorial Weekend Pensacola Kick-off party. Complimentary giveaways include (2) VIP Weekend Passes, (2) Foam Party passes, (2) Wave Beach Party passes & (2) Glow Paint Party passes.
Our very own resident DJ Joe Ross will spin one of these events in Pensacola alond with this Saturday's guest DJ, Jeremy Blacklow!
Los Angeles-based DJ Blacklow (Jeremy Blacklow) grew up inspired by the house music of New York City in the ’90s. From the time he moved to NYC in 1994, the beats of DJs such as Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone and the late Peter Rauhofer — and the Sunday house sounds of Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell & François K at Body & Soul — opened his ears to the sounds that still influence him today. Living in Los Angeles since 2004, Blacklow finally listened to friends’ advice and took his love of music to the next level, beginning to play bars, clubs & events throughout Southern California in 2011.
Blacklow’s sound is a mixture of house, progressive house, tech house, circuit, tribal, and pop. He’s known for blending the old and the new together seamlessly to create an incredible dance floor journey in his sets. His trademark? A healthy serving of both new and old remixes of throwbacks and classics on every outing.
Blacklow has risen quickly in the LA scene to become a resident DJ for several of SoCal’s biggest promoters including Tom Whitman, Paul Nicholls, Jeffrey Sanker, and Luke Nero & Andrés Rigal. His residencies have included Here lounge in West Hollywood, Nero/Rigal parties RASPUTIN, PLASTIC FANTASTIC, COMMODORE, and SUMMERTRAMP, SHARE nightclub (Vegas), and Nicholls’ Stripper Circus parties in LA, Las Vegas, San Diego & Seattle.
Special events Blacklow has headlined include five years in a row at LA’s world famous HALLOWEENIE party (2012 – ’16), Halloween New Orleans (HNO, ‘14 & ‘15), Provincetown Carnival Week at the Crown & Anchor (‘15 & ’16), ELEVATION gay ski weeks at Park City, Tahoe & Mammoth, Aspen & Whistler gay ski weeks, The Royalty Group’s “High Tea” events at San Diego Pride, Palm Springs Pride & White Party Palm Springs, LA’s GLAAD Media Awards, OVERDRIVE in San Diego, The Black Tie Dinner in Dallas (‘15 & ‘16), Memorial Day weekend Pensacola (’15 -’17), and Pride events across the country from New Orleans and Vancouver, to Seattle and New York City.
In summer 2015, Blacklow headlined at the Dream Hotel for NYC Pride when Caitlyn Jenner made her first ever public appearance with him behind the decks. (as featured on E!’s “I Am Cait”!)
Blacklow can be heard regularly in West Hollywood these days at The Abbey and The Chapel at The Abbey.
In Jan. 2014, Blacklow released his first production (along with production partner, George Figares), a high-energy remix of Sara Bareilles’ Grammy-nominated anthem “Brave,” which has been downloaded over 20,000 times.
In Fall 2016, Figares & Blacklow released their first single together — an update (and full remix package) of the 2001 anthem “To Be Able To Love” — featuring vocalist Brenda Reed on Swishcraft Music.
Additional Blacklow and Figares remixes include “Minute of You” (Dan Slater & JimJam feat. Nalaya Brown, Swishcraft), “Let’s Dance” (Ana Paula ft. Yan Lavoie, Pump Records), “Bad Chick” (Seth Cooper + Trypsin feat. Sasha), a tribal after-hours take on Toy Armada & DJ Grind’s “St. Elmo’s Fire” (Swishcraft), Zedd’s “I Want You to Know” (feat. Selena Gomez), Iggy Azalea & Rita Ora’s “Black Widow,” Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” and “Baby Don’t Lie,” and Fifth Harmony’s “BO$$.” (commission from Epic Records.
