A young, trendy, urban professional crowd fills this Houston standard both for happy hour and for nights out. The pool table, dancing, and video screens make for a great time, and the airy New Orleans-style patio is a great meetup place any time of the week.

My job is nothing but travel so I wanted to be in a comfortable place. I tried JR's after a couple recommendations. Weak drinks and bartenders with attitude. I thought the crowd would be a little friendlier but nope. I was on the patio and some people asked to join me and I said yes. They told me I may wanna move because they planned on smoking next to me. This was a Tuesday so I didn't expect things to be too busy but I did expect more from this place. I took a 10min walk to F Bar and EVERYONE was a lot nicer, including the drinks. It would take a lot of arm twisting to visit JR's again...
