I had a great time at Midtowne Spa! Staff was so friendly, everything was clean, I loved the pool, sauna and the ambient. The people that i encounter there are friendly. I would recommend it!

The better choice in Houston

Midtowne Spa isn't as big or as ritzy as its competitor down the street, but to me it's easily the better of the two baths in Houston. While it also offers a lot of private rooms, it also provides dark, secluded nooks and niches where a couple of strangers can get comfortable. It has all the facilities most people would want -- pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, gym, maze, glory holes, video, outdoor smoking area -- plus an assortment of spaces where you can stretch out and ... um ... you know. It's as clean as the other place, more sensitively lit, and the music (which is, unfortunately, canned and monotonous) isn't completely overwhelming. The people I encountered on my visit were friendlier than I found them down the street, and less insular: they didn't seem to all work together in the outside world.

Disappointing

My partner and I planned a night a fun out of town and decided to try the Midtowne Houston instead of Austin based on reviews here. We are a mixed bear couple that lives in the DFW area and often have run into situations where guys are only interested in one of us or the other but for the most part have a fair time in bathhouses. We went on a Saturday night/Sunday morning just after midnight and left before 4am. VENUE: Like the Dallas location, the Houston location could use a refresh. While I wouldn't describe it as run down, it could use some TLC. Overall, I would still describe the place as clean. It is fairly large with a HUGE number of rooms, a small locker area, a decent workout area, a large pool, a decent sized hot tub (6 to 8 maybe), normal sized dry & wet saunas, a big video theater lounge, showers and a maze. While the maze isn't small and has plenty of cubby holes and seats, it seems thrown together. On the plus side it is nicely lit; neither too bright nor too dark with private corners. CROWD: There were probably 50+ guys there and a predominately black crowd. Oddly, most of them were just standing or wandering around in the maze with none to little action going on. It quickly became clear that my white partner (who loves black men) was not going to get any action. Most of the guys seemed to be looking for a type that wasn't "white bear". I'm a "black cub" with an average to few extra pounds physique and did get 3 guys (1 with my partner) to play but most of the guys seemed standoffish.

Visited Midtowne Spa while in Houston for work. I have been to other Midtowne's around the country and Houston Midtowne is fun! I went on a Saturday night, got there a little after midnight. The clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious for a bathhouse room. Went down to the hot tub and pool area, a few guys playing in the hot tub. Sat in the tub for a while to relax. Then decided to check out the rest of the spa. Went right to the dark play area, lots of dark places to play. About 1am-1:30am the place really started to fill up. Found the glory hole and hung there for awhile when a really big fat cock came through.
