  Finally...a bar for MEN!!
  I am sure everyone has noted the continuous gentrification and watering down of the gay man's bar! We have lived a long and sometimes painful struggle finding our place and our acceptance in this world. We have all strived to be included in mainstream society...but I don't tthink any of us thought it meant the loss of the original gay man's bar! The Houston Eagle is a throwback to those wonderful dark, dimly lit watering holes of the glory days of gay MEN! While we love our lesbian sisters and our straight counterparts, when a man is looking for the company of other men, your resident twink's fag hag is not what you want peering over your shoulder when havig a beer with another hot man asking "so dies that nipple ring hurt?" Twinks re-think!!! This bar is for the men and their admirers...take your buisness to South Beach! CALLING ALL MEN...WE ARE AT HOME!!!

  This is one of my new favorite bars anywhere. It's similar to Eagle bars in other cities, though with a slightly more Texan vibe. Very relaxed, friendly, laidback, with good drinks. If you're in Houston, you must check it out!

  The crowd here is NOT leather! Not very impressed. When I went it was the Saturday night before Hallowe'en so maybe not typical. Almost no one in leather. Did not see many mature men. Bartenders OK but not super friendly even if you tip very well. No clothes/coat check. Having one would encourage folks to take off their coats and whatever. At least this place is cleaner than Ripcord.

  Newest of the Montrose scene
  The eagle is a great place to hang out, have cocktails and meet new people. Usually it is busiest on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. There may be some leather, but it is more about guys hanging out and having a good time. Various patios and decks and upstairs bar.

  Visited in a Monday when the whole of Montrose is quiet. The staff was very friendly. Looking forward to visiting on a busier night.

  Cool place!
  Center bar inside, there's another bar in the back patio. A small leather shop inside and a pool table. An area next to bar also function as small dance floor during weekend. It's more a place for leather dudes who's a little rough around the edges and laid back regular people than the beautiful but vain and full of attitude crowd like you find at F Bar and Meteor.

  Cigars, Men and Others!
  The Eagle is our go to place in Houston! Music is great and so is the staff. New facility reminds me of some of the watering holes in NYC in the 70's and 80's. Cruisy, Friendly, Leather and Party oriented. It's happin at the Eagle!

  an EAGLE SUNDAY PARTY.... Wow what an atmosphere!!
  This place is super huge, no other like it in the SOUTH!! Houston is well on its way to being more than a layover at the airport. The best music your ears can handle and gets you in the best mood to get hot and sweaty on the dancefloor. The bar staff is awesome and the weekly party themes are super super excellente!! There is all types of men to cruise and now there is 2 outdoor patios overlooking Buffalo Bayou too... If your a local you gotta check it out and if your here for a layover or passing thru you gotta see this place. It's a sunday party though, a definite place to go on a sunday

  Total testerone!
  Dark and cruisey is the total description. I've been to several Eagle's in other cities and I must say the Houston chapter has the best layout with it being underground. Great patio and friendly staff. It's all men, and thank god - no drag or shows, just dancing and drinking. If you're into twinks you need to rethink. I've also heard too that it will become a permanent installation instead of just Sundays soon - CAN'T WAIT! Great music too

  We finally have an EAGLE!!!!!!
  If you're a fan of the mature male leather/levi/masculine scene, the Eagle is the place. They're only a Sunday party, but an insider has told me that the perm location is in the works - I'm glad because I gave up on the Ripcord years ago. Eagle is in the basement of an old building (Magnolia Ballroom)....it's very dark and very very cruisey. Djs there play a mix of all the disco standards and great high energy current music. I'm there every week.
