South Beach Houston

(325 Ratings)
Sultry, sweaty and so very sexy

This sprawling space is a queer fun zone! With incredible live performances, amazing DJ sets, and wild laser light shows, this club stands out as one of Houston's best LGBTQ+ party spots.

Some of the world's most famous and most fabulous drag queens have performed at this Miami-themed club. Bianca Del Rio has been known to frequent and spends plenty of time taking photos with her adoring fans!

Dance, kiss, and laugh underneath the shimming chandelier that adorns the ceiling of the dance floor, casting glittering light and magic around the room.

Everyone will feel welcome to express their truest selves here on the dance floor, and you're sure to leave with more friends than when you walked in.

After 3 years...im bored.

If you like house/dance this is the ONLY club worth going to in town. That said it does have its drawbacks...super packed on saturdays, if your a smoker you have to brave the elements on the patio, the drinks are standard no over pouring here. Use to be a good mix of people now its just a bunch of queens running around like they own the place giving you dirty looks. The dance floor gets so packed you can barely dance of Saturdays. Its a great place to take a group of friends and just act a fool though.

cheap drinks on Fridays

Bartender is okay (not chatty/friendly). Strippers were muscular 45 year olds. Dance floor is so bright because the light effects are on all at the same time, plus to large screens. Decor, feel, layout of the place is awesome. The people are cute and friendly. I saw a lot pf straight couples... I can select with girls, but got confused with the straight guys a bit. It was scary to think that I might mistakenly dance with a straight dude who might take offense. Open until 5 am on Fridays so this is were youll end up of you want to party all night.

South Beach sucks

I hate this place. It is too loud, there is no real quiet room and the bathrooms are inadequate

South Beach has lost its edge

South Beach used to be the "It" club but not anymore. For those of us have been going to South Beach since it was named Club Heaven before they had an accidental fire that cause the club to burn down, today it fails in comparison to how great of a club it used to be. The dj's have no edge or consistency with their music. Their madonnarama party is no longer eventful as the great dj's that they once had are a thing of the past. I recently went for the Lady Gaga dance party this past weekend and I was totally disappointed. It was nothing in comparison to a Madonnarama event. The dj was horrible. It was like he was experimenting with the music. The bartender to the rear of the club doesn't know how to make drinks and apparently overcharges customers. I could not believe that they were out of certain product to make mixed drinks!! Then I noticed all the NOW HIRING signs in the club for managers, bartenders in the rest rooms etc. Seems like the club is undergoing a recession still. At their recent Lady Gaga event, they only used the fog twice to cool us down on the dance floor, but it was too short and bittersweet and the fog didn't cover the entire dance floor. The club is only half full--not packed like it used to be. I only club for the music but South Beach has not delivered in the 4 times that I have been in 3 years. The atmosphere is not the same. The dj's are too mediocre for Saturday nights. That one shirtless bartender is by far not the best representation of South Beach! I am not a dj, but yes I have better music at home(dance music cd's even one that I got from a then great dj at South Beach for answering a Madonna question right prior to club closing years ago). Do you remember when South Beach was re-born? From Heaven to South Beach? When they had their World Premier Party and then their huge V.I.P party? A time when the lines outside would wrap around the building? A time when dj's were like God's and we the club goers were like angels and demons having nights of dance and decadence on the dance floor? Now most club goers that were South Beach faithfuls are apparently going else where. I would love to go for Gay Pride this weekend June 26, 2010 but my biggest fear is that they will have a "sorry" dj who may ruin my gay pride experience with bad music. I will be at the parade, but I will skip South Beach this year and house party with my friends. Unlike some people, who get in for free, their is no point in me wasting my hard earned money paying 20 or 15 dollars to enter a club if I am not going to enjoy myself. It's all about customer service, great drinks and dj's that know how to deliver great music. South Beach had lost its edje on all three.

Great Party Spot for young guys

I loved south beach. Actually all the bars on that street are great if you want to bar hop. I loved the scene, the dancing, the young crowd, LOTS of beautiful people. Who knew Houston was so hip!
