South Beach Houston

(325 Ratings)
Sultry, sweaty and so very sexy

This sprawling space is a queer fun zone! With incredible live performances, amazing DJ sets, and wild laser light shows, this club stands out as one of Houston's best LGBTQ+ party spots.

Some of the world's most famous and most fabulous drag queens have performed at this Miami-themed club. Bianca Del Rio has been known to frequent and spends plenty of time taking photos with her adoring fans!

Dance, kiss, and laugh underneath the shimming chandelier that adorns the ceiling of the dance floor, casting glittering light and magic around the room.

Everyone will feel welcome to express their truest selves here on the dance floor, and you're sure to leave with more friends than when you walked in.

Cool place... hate the bouncers!

A nice disco, superb special effects and lights, lots of attitude and strippers "wanna be's", a few "weird" people, but overall OK. HATE the bouncers; one of them took my beer from my hand around 2:30am, supposedly because they can't sell more alcohol after 2:00am. Let me tell you, that's this was the most horrible thing that has happened to me (I'm not a B*&TCH person, but I've been in discos in Paris, London, Beijing, Phili, NY, Miami, etc., and NEVER a situation like that have happened to me); the management should do something about that, because, if I already payed for the beer, I have the right to finish it; NOT some as*&%ole to take it from me, like if like if I were a delinquent.

Dance Palace of Texas !!

If you are from out of town or not...This is the place to dance! It will probably be the most impressive light show and music you have experienced. Packed every weekend with the hotties! One of the best gay dance clubs in the country!

Snazzy dance club

South Beach is one of a trio of clubs, owned by one Charles Armstrong, on the 800 block of Pacific Street in Montrose. This one is a shiny, ultra-modern, high-tech dance club, and the perpetual long lines of folks waiting to get in is a testament to its success in giving the people what they want. Inside, South Beach almost seems like a theater in the round, with the crowded dance floor sunk slightly below the bars that surround it; this set-up allows one to easily participate in the fun as a spectator or as a dancer. South Beach has a high cover charge ($15 as of December 2005), but if you arrive between 10 and 10:30 you get in for free -- that's much too early, of course, but if you're on a budget it's a good deal. Laser/fog shows and refreshing water jets are among South Beach's cooler features.

Texas should be PROUD !

I have traveled all over the world and love the nightlife. I have been to many, many, clubs. Vegas, Miami, NY, LA, London, etc...San Fran, the "Mother Land", has horrible clubs. Nothing even remotely close to what we have here in Texas. Many zip codes have great clubs but none have all the amenities of South Beach! You have a great sized venue, with overwhelming lighting, sound, special effects, full colored lasers, Kryogenifix cold fog system, and great DJ's / events. South Beach is defintely THE most high tech bar in Texas and surely one of the best in the country. Houston, be lucky that you have something so clean and fabulous! You could have some run downed hole in the wall or nothing at all. All of those things I listed cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. What club or club owner spends that much money on a club for his patrons? So, yes, it may cost a little more but you have to pay for your experience, it is not a charity event! People are in business to make money. If you have never been you are missing out on a grand experience. This is the dance palace of Texas and one of the greats of the US. No, I do not work there or am I affliated with them. I am loyal customer just because this club is awesome and I can see how my money is being re-invested!
