South Beach Houston

(325 Ratings)
Sultry, sweaty and so very sexy

This sprawling space is a queer fun zone! With incredible live performances, amazing DJ sets, and wild laser light shows, this club stands out as one of Houston's best LGBTQ+ party spots.

Some of the world's most famous and most fabulous drag queens have performed at this Miami-themed club. Bianca Del Rio has been known to frequent and spends plenty of time taking photos with her adoring fans!

Dance, kiss, and laugh underneath the shimming chandelier that adorns the ceiling of the dance floor, casting glittering light and magic around the room.

Everyone will feel welcome to express their truest selves here on the dance floor, and you're sure to leave with more friends than when you walked in.

Only 4 tweekerz

I must agree with a few of the prior reviews, SOBE has seen better days. Today, the crowd has dwindled and there are no men at this club. Usually these things go in cycles, so I stuck it out....but after enduring the endless messiness of all the nelly tweeked out 19 year olds, I decided to head to Rich's (used to be totally Gay). I did not know what I would find, but I found a packed dance club with loads of gays, str8s, lesbians and drag queens...love that Anita Bump chick! While I miss Rich's being totally gay, the party is just like you would find in any open-minded metropolitan city...a great mix.

Hot Saturday Nights

SoBe has seen better days, but it does have the best light show, music, and the craziest people in Houston. Overall, it gets pretty packed on Saturdays, but recently I've seen a decline in the crowd, especially on Fridays. Fridays now-a-days are somewhat dead. I guess the 21 & over crowd is getting tired of the young boys, their hags, and all those breeders that stop by. Suggestion: Saturdays should be 21 & over. About the breeders, well, you're never gonna get rid of them. Drinks are good if you know what bartender to go to. I usually end up in the back bar. SoBe is still the best dance club that I've been to (and I've been around) HEE!!. XOXO

Good but getting old for Houston

South Beach is not how it used to be, first they started letting all these young people in (18+) who can get annoying when they for some reason end up drunk. Also alot of straight girls and their boyfriends invaded (some lesbos but thats ok). Me and some friends had a run in with some dumb drunk straight latin guy who was ther with his bitch. Just because my friend bumped by accident (while walking in the back area by the backbar when its really crowded) him he was wanting to start a fight. I mean this is a GAY bar bumping and pushing comes with the territory at South Beach and this dumb latino thug was wanting to fight.. Talk about stupid. This is why Im beginning to hate this place! Too many straight idiots who dont know how to act. If you ever go to a straight latin bar you cant ever bump into a drunk ranchero type cuz they all up in your face and this is what this moron was trying to do.. He didnt fit in at all and we just kept walking like if he didnt exist. The lesbian bar tender in the middle bar always ignores us, the big white guy at the front serves too slow. The drinks arent that great, the music is nothing but remixed top 40 and house which got old in 2003. The music still is great though, Ive been to all the West Hollywood clubs and theyre music is way outdated compared to South Beach. If your a newbee or from out of town I recommend it but Ive been out for a while so Im kind of bored of it. I really do miss Riches Houston! Now that was a REAL GAY BAR! Think of the Gay studio 54! PLEASE COME BACK!!! AAAAH :)

Crowd to young and boyish

I didn't like this place I guess because I like an older crowd. I wasn't impressed with the music all they played was house music. The drinks weren't that good either. Yeah this place has lights, fog machines, and all that to cater to a younger crowd but that's it. They will let you in if you 18 plus so there are alot of guys there that are young and not even old enough to buy you a drink because they're tagged with that bracelet thing. I think the only good thing about this place is that they valet park your car. I liked this place a lot more when it was Heaven.

The Place to Dance !

South Beach is a must see! The busiest gay dance bar in Houston and probably the nicest dance bar in Texas! Most people have not been to another club this nice and full of technology. If you are looking to dance, hear great music, see hot guys, and feel like you are the star...This is your place. Awesome!
